SunGard Availability Services has announced the imminent launch of its Continuity Management Solution (CMS), scheduled for the New Year and commencing with a Risk Assessment module. The new module has been designed to provide a more granular view of internal and external risks to a business and will assess the resilience of key departments, as well as suppliers, and the threats associated with incidents of terrorism and pandemics.

The Risk Assessment module is the first of a number of new modules and will allow business continuity practitioners to capture and use a wide range of risk information to deliver enhanced business resilience. Highly automated, these modules -- which integrate into existing BIA Professional and LDRPS components -- are designed to eliminate much of the time consuming processes associated with business continuity management.

"We understand that as the business climate remains difficult, resilience and business continuity are fast becoming key concerns for senior company execs," says, Mike Threlfall, UK head of continuity software at SunGard Availability Services. "We've designed Risk Assessment to provide a holistic view of potential risks, allowing execs to fully align business continuity with overall business goals."
